Ingenhoven Architects
Christoph Ingenhoven was born in 1960 in Duesseldorf and studied architecture at the RWTH institute in Aachen and then, at the academy of fine arts in Duesseldorf. He founded his firm of architects, Ingenhoven Architekten, in 1985. As the key member of his firm, he remains personally involved in each project. His firm has won many awards, including first prizes internationally especially for its realization of ecological and sustainable concepts. His firm is currently employing 60 people including architects, interior designers, draftsmen, model makers and engineers. The firm offers a pleasant working environment to its staff and encourages team work and communication amongst its employees.
The constant focus of Ingenhoven's work remains ecology together with the strong desire to build comfortable living and working space. In addition, his firm favors the use of advanced and unusual techniques and likes to incorporate the latest technology in its designs. It also remains loyal to pure, simple and functional designs.
Christoph Ingenhoven is one of the world's leading architects for designing sustainable and ecological buildings. His work is guided by the principles set out by such bodies as the LEED evaluation, ASHRAE, the Swiss Minergie-standard body, BREEAM and the European standard 2000.
