In my view, ecology is, above all, the architect's attempt to achieve a unity between the architectural, technological, energy saving, social, economical and cultural aspects when realizing a project. To do so, implies quite naturally the setting of clear priorities. The first task when developing building concept, is to have a clear overview of the ecological aspects, perfect detailed solutions should come after. For example, if I create a surface whichi is too large for the building, then alldecisions taken with regard to individuals' needs and/or comfort, such as the use of bio-degradable materials and solar energy could be wrong or purposeless (Christoph INGENHOVEN, "Energies").
