Ventilating with natural air
The office buildings, hotels, apartment house and residences, and even the high-rise structures have open windows, which allow natural fresh air in. The glasses are double glazed panels of high efficiency with a U-value of 1.32 W/ m2K. The adoption of the highly insulating glass allows full use of natural light, while helping to save energy in lighting.

The Environments in the Forum
The Forum is covered with a roof and surrounded by buildings, which tones down the severe natural condition of the open air. If it were a wind swept area, the Forum would not be used for a large part of the year because of the wind, rain, and, above all, the extreme cold weather of Berlin winters.
Fortunately, being surrounded by buildings in all directions helps raise the warmth of the Forum: even in winter, the temperature that people feel here is said to be 3 degrees higher than what the thermometer says, thanks to the radiant effects and heat leakage from the surrounding buildings. The wind speed is reduced by 10-25 % by the roof covering and the surrounding structures. Best of all, the roof over the Forum reduces the effects of wind and sunlight for all the buildings in the area. All in all, the transparent glazing plays a very important role in economics.
